Tone Benedict
Lead Pastor – Tone has a radical testimony of a life saved and redeemed by Jesus. Tone has 6 kids and great wife and ministry partner named Missy. Together they have been in ministry for the last 23 years. About 9 years ago Tone felt the call to start a Church that was focused on living out God’s Mission and living for God’s Kingdom. So in September of 2012 a small group of people met in Tone’s backyard for a BBQ and began to talk about Jesus and what it would look like to be a Community of people that started to Worship Jesus together, eat meals and take communion together, Live on Gods Mission together and Love people in tangible way together with their resources…especially the least of these. That's kinda how the W.E.L.L. began. Tone loves fishing and the Chicago Cubs. He loves strong coffee and to sit down with people and hear their story as well as share what God is doing.
Christie Moyer
Administrative Assistant/LOVE CLEANS - Christie is a former teacher that taught 2nd grade for six years. She loves to serve in the nursery and with the youth group at church. Christie is an extrovert and loves being surrounded by people. She also loves organizing things, doing make up and trying new foods. Christie fell in love with Jesus when she was 22 years old. Christie and her husband Brandon found The Well when they were looking for a community that would love and accept them and help them to know Jesus better. God provided all of that and beyond at The Well. Christie says she “Loves the Well!’ because we go out into the community to serve and love people, especially the “least of these.” Christie is the person in charge when it comes to organizing the LOVE CLEANS Shower unit and processing donations and getting volunteers lined up! She is also involved in LOVE FEEDS our food pantry.
Jesse Knutzen
Preaching / All Signs pointing up - Jesse grew up here in Jacksonville, Florida. He spent most of his life in and out of institutions for the treatment of drug and alcohol abuse and was a self-professing atheist… Until Jesus came and rescued him! Jesse had been addicted to heroin and living in an abandoned building until one day God gave him a wake up call and he began to walk towards Gateway (a local drug rehab center in Jacksonville). Little did Jesse know he was also walking toward a whole new life! Jesse began praying for the first time in many years and it was at Gateway that he met Pastor Tone from the Well. He heard the Gospel of grace and was transformed by the Love of Jesus. Jesse now runs his own ministry and he calls it “All Signs Pointing Up” they deliver food, clothes and the love of Jesus to those in need around the Arlington area of Jacksonville where Jesse was once homeless himself. Jesse also now works for a local recovery center as his job.
Cheyenne Brunson
Director of Childrens Ministry - Cheyenne is a woman who understands what it means to be beautifully broken. Her testimony speaks to God’s ability to take things meant for harm and making them work for His good. From a young age she knew she was called to work with children and has pursued that calling her whole life. She has been serving in varying Children’s Ministries for 15 years and has only grown more passionate about this endeavor as the years go on. 5 years ago, God brought Cheyenne to The Well Jax and she instantly knew she were meant to be there. She loves her daughters, a good book, and is a great artist!
